Charting Change: The New Landscape of Nonprofits

Join us Thursday, February 29th from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm for a Lunch & Learn!

The nonprofit landscape is continuously evolving with new challenges and opportunities coming to the forefront. From volunteer engagement to social impact, fundraising shortfalls, inflation, and the rise of artificial intelligence, we’ve seen many changes in recent years into how nonprofits operate. Martha Putnam, Executive Director of the Ozaukee Nonprofit Center, will lead a discussion of the top 10 trends she has experienced. In addition, she will share her insight on converting the pitfalls of change into positives that propel your nonprofit forward.

Martha Putnam, Executive Director of Ozaukee Nonprofit Center

Martha recently moved to Wisconsin from Florida, bringing over 25 years of experience to the Ozaukee Nonprofit Center (ONC) as the new Executive Director. She plays a key role in empowering the nonprofit sector to solve the most important and urgent issues facing our community.

Martha has written over $5 million of successful grants, which have introduced and sustained the implementation of evidence-based programs throughout the state of Florida. She has been awarded grants from Impact 100, Community Foundations and Federal SAMSHA grants. When she was the Executive Director for Friends of Foster Children, her dynamic leadership and staying on the forefront of non–profit management led her agency to be named 2022 Non Profit of the Year for Palm Beach County. Martha is in demand as a speaker, educator, and authority on Non-profit Structure, Parenting, Mental Health and Board Guidance.

Martha’s career began in the field of caring—she has over a decade of experience in youth ministry and has served as a Hospice Chaplain for Vitas Innovative Hospice Care. She is a recognized speaker in faith based communities, sharing her parenting perspective as she and her husband raise their own 5 children and have served as foster parents for others.
Martha received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Concordia University, St. Paul, MN. She is an accomplished presenter and holds the National Trainer of Trainers credentials for: Active Parenting, Teen Intervene, (Youth and Adult) Mental Health First Aid, Botvin LifeSkills Training and Alcohol Literacy Challenge. She has led workshops at the Broward Behavioral Health Conference, FADAA State Conference, and the Florida Foster/Adoptive Parent Education Conference. Martha serves on the Women’s Leadership Institute Board– Mequon, WI and the Palm Beach County Behavioral Health Coalition.
